案例研究详细信息
XP Inc. is a Brazilian investment management company offering wideranging products and services from private pension products to wealth management. And while the company is headquartered in São Paulo, it operates several offices around Brazil and offers their employees the flexibility to work remotely.
But before the COVID-19 pandemic, XP Inc lacked the capabilities to provide a seamless and consistent online Learning and Development (L&D) experience for all its employees. After launching its new LMS, XP Inc looked to the Udemy Business platform for its wideranging L&D courses, deep-dive user insights, and comprehensive account support. platform.
A complicated L&D environment in need of unity
Boasting more than 3.5 million customers across Brazil and 22% annual asset growth, XP Inc. has gone from strength to strength in recent years and is trusted by its customers to deliver reliable wealth planning products and services.
But with rapid success comes significant business challenges: how to scale the business in a way that ensures the right people are in the right roles, consistent L&D opportunities for everyone, and staying true to the company’s core values.
XP Inc realized that one of the ways to achieve these goals was through specific training curated by internal experts on various topics relevant to the business’ aims and employees’ career aspirations. But with no unified L&D platform to manage all this content across technical and commercially focused teams, ensuring consistency and creating customized training programs was a significant challenge.
“Part of XP’s culture is to centralize everything to ensure consistent and manageable growth,” says Sarah Lourenço, Leadership Development at XP Inc. “That’s why we wanted to unify our multiple L&D platforms, offering the right courses based on team goals and creating a learning culture across the organization.”
And while the company launched its own learning management system, it lacked the wide range of content its teams needed to upskill and excel in their careers. To help unify its L&D program and make it accessible anywhere, XP Inc. needed an online learning solution with the scalability to keep pace with rapid company growth.
Leadership Development
A wealth of L&D content at the touch of a button — anywhere
After surveying its employees’ L&D needs, it soon became clear to XP Inc’s L&D team that Udemy Business would be the way forward. “We listened to our people about what and how they wanted to learn, and most made it clear Udemy Business was their preferred platform,” says Sarah. “So, we went straight to trialing the platform to test user adoption. Everyone loved it — it made such a difference from day one that we didn’t look into anything else.”
From the company’s technical and financial markets to back office roles, different areas at XP Inc now have access to the Udemy Business platform, offering significant opportunities to upskill. For example, XP Inc’s technical team had a disproportionate number of junior team members that needed to learn new skills quickly. Using Udemy Business, these employees now have bespoke Learning Paths to help them upskill on new tech stacks quicker than ever before.
As a rapidly growing company that’s constantly adding new talent to its teams, XP Inc is also keen to develop its leadership of the future to help ensure it doesn’t become a victim of its own success. That’s why employees are now encouraged to take part in soft skills courses — such as management and communication techniques — through course recommendations.
A platform that pays dividends: $240K saved — and counting
The benefits are already widely felt across the organization, with more satisfied employees who feel empowered to drive their career progression at a pace that suits their learning style. “After launching Udemy Business at XP Inc. through an employee engagement campaign, which also included weekly recommendations, we immediately noticed the benefits,” says Sarah “Our people have greater control over their development possibilities. And everyone has great things to say about the platform – the feedback is really good.”
And the figures say it all. With 86% active users, adoption has risen from 75% to 90% in just a few months. And 93.3% of employees who use the platform in the company find the platform useful, which is a way to measure how their employees feel about the initiative. But perhaps the most impressive benefit is the $240,000 saved in the first five months in enrolled courses had they been purchased separately online.
More satisfied employees who stay the course
Moreover, the learning ecosystem that Sarah’s team has created using Udemy Business has helped the company engage more of its key talent — a significant advantage when competing with other organizations.
“Where employee engagement is concerned, we know we mustn’t rest on our laurels,” says Sarah. “Udemy Business helps us discover what kind of content works for every type of person and job role. If I could advise anyone looking to adopt Udemy business, I’d say listen to your people and understand exactly what you’re looking for in an online learning platform. We wouldn’t have been as successful had we not given our people what they wanted.”
Leadership Development
Continuous development fostering a culture of learning
While Sarah’s team is immediately focused on preparing its next generation of leaders for rapid growth, the team also plans to develop how the company onboards new hires, further entrenching a culture of learning across the organization.
“I like the Udemy Business platform; it makes it easy for one person to administrate for the entire company — which makes it highly scalable,” says Sarah. “And the support we received from our account managers really surprised me. It’s not common to see across other vendors.”
