Challenge
Meeting client demands without a training infrastructure
TEKsystems is a global provider of business and technology services. The company partners with organizations across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific to drive digital transformation, solve complex business challenges and deliver measurable outcomes through expertise in strategy, design, execution and operations. TEKsystems matches consultants with fast-paced enterprises that require deep, current technical expertise from day one.
TEKsystems bridges technology and talent, helping organizations access specialized consultants with current, market-relevant expertise. The opportunity was significant: equip a large, geographically distributed consultant workforce with the certifications, tools, and technical skills clients require—without a traditional training infrastructure and without slowing deployment timelines.
Client expectations around skills like cloud architecture, cybersecurity, project management, and emerging AI capabilities evolve faster than any scheduled curriculum could keep pace with.
The solution had to support both structured onboarding and self-directed growth—and scale to a workforce in the tens of thousands.
“By combining structured learning paths with self-directed access, we gave our consultants the autonomy to pursue certifications and build skills on their own terms, and Udemy Business made that possible.”
Solution
A dual-track approach to consultant development
TEKsystems implemented Udemy Business across its consultant workforce using a dual-track approach. On one track, the company’s professional development team worked to build structured learning paths and embed them into consultant orientation, ensuring that from day one consultants had access to curated, role-relevant content aligned to client expectations. On the other track, the platform remained open and self-directed, empowering consultants to take ownership of their own development.
Two complementary principles drove this dual-track model:
• Structured onboarding: curated, role-relevant learning paths embedded into consultant orientation, aligned to client expectations from day one
• Self-directed growth: open access for consultants to pursue certifications, build tool proficiency, and explore emerging technologies on their own terms and timeline
That combination of structured and organic learning has proven to be the right model for a workforce of motivated, self-driven professionals. The platform is available to consultants across the United States, Canada, and a select group in Europe, with 70,000 licenses across the external instance. To date, TEKsystems has onboarded more than 36,000 consultants, achieving a 52% adoption rate. An average of 3,414 learners are active every month, a consistency that reflects genuine integration of learning into the workflow rather than a one-time push.
“We couldn’t have scaled to tens of thousands of learners without a platform like Udemy, or met people where they were in their development,” said Jaimie Armato, Learning Technology Specialist II.
One of the more meaningful applications has been supporting early-access orientation for consultants placed with strategic clients across retail, technology, and other industries. By building client-aligned learning paths, TEKsystems accelerates time-to-productivity and delivers a more consistent onboarding experience. Access to the platform is also offered as a meaningful benefit to consultants, reinforcing the company’s commitment to their professional growth.
“By combining structured learning paths with self-directed access, we gave consultants the autonomy to pursue certifications and build skills on their own terms, and Udemy Business made that possible,” Armato said.
Results
234,000 hours of learning and 18 months of sustained engagement
From January 2025 through June 2026, the external instance delivered more than 234,000 hours of learning across more than 130,000 course enrollments, with more than 10,000 course completions and more than 2,300 unique skills developed. An average of 3,414 consultants engaged with the platform every month across 18 consecutive months, a level of consistency that speaks to genuine integration of learning into daily work rather than periodic spikes driven by campaigns or mandates.
Learner satisfaction was exceptionally strong. Of 15,144 course reviews submitted, the platform earned an average rating of 4.6 out of 5, with 73% of all reviews rated 4 or 5 stars. In the most recent learner check-in, 2,641 out of 2,647 consultants responded, and 87% reported finding Udemy Business helpful. The top reported benefits were skill development, course discovery, increased productivity at work, and certification exam preparation.
The skill development story is particularly compelling. IT certifications, programming languages, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, DevOps, and generative AI dominate learning activity, directly reflecting the technical demands of the clients TEKsystems serves. Generative AI has already emerged as a top-ten skill area by learning hours, with 4,196 learners enrolled in Generative AI for Tech and 2,388 in Generative AI for Business, signaling that the consultant workforce is proactively preparing for the next wave of client needs.
“With Udemy Business, we moved from providing a platform to providing a resource consultants actively rely on to grow, perform, and advance in their careers,” Armato said.

Looking Ahead
Strategic capability
As client demands around cloud architecture, cybersecurity, AI, and modern development practices continue to shift, Udemy Business gives TEKsystems the agility to keep pace. The platform functions as a strategic capability that keeps TEKsystems and its consultants at the leading edge of what the technology industry demands.
“Udemy Business gives us the agility to keep pace with technology change, so when a new certification drops or a new tool gains traction, our consultants can access relevant content immediately,” Armato said.
