Today, supply chains are networked. They are not linear. Instead, supply chains depend on outsourced contract manufacturing companies, third-party logistics providers (3PLs), freight forwarders, and transportation providers. Although we can outsource activities such as manufacturing and transportation, we cannot outsource our supply chain’s risk. As these webs of interdependencies become the standard for supply chains, it is critical that we adopt an end-to-end mindset and have insight into all aspects of our supply chain.
When many companies today say they are taking an end-to-end approach, they are advocating automating flows within their four walls. These companies are essentially speaking about building cross-functional processes—a valuable undertaking, but not the same thing as adopting a truly end-to-end mindset, which runs from the customer’s customer to the supplier’s supplier.
In this course we explore:
- Why the end-to-end supply chain matters
- How to define and govern our end-to-end supply chain
- The critical role of supplier sensing and development in managing risk end-to-end
- Establishing corporate social responsibility (CSR) effort across the entire supply chain
Learners Will:
- Discover the five stages of the end-to-end journey, and how your organization can develop its end-to-end capabilities
- Explore the role supplier development plays in managing risk in the global end-to- end supply chain
- Develop ideas on how corporate social responsibility can build value for your supply chain organization
