Its customers operate in wide-ranging industries and employ anywhere between 1,000 and 40,000 people, making the need for access to key systems at the right time absolutely essential.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To help its customers benefit from sophisticated identity access technology and processes, and specialist managed services and consultancy, Integralis needs to employ the right talent. Specifically, people with governance knowledge, technical skills, and business acumen. Almero Steyn, Director at Integralis, explains: \u201cFinding the right people for the job in our business is a significant challenge. We realized we needed to build these skills in-house and change our recruiting focus away from recruiting for existing competencies to something more character driven \u2014 focusing on interpersonal skills and personal drive. It can take longer to get these people up to speed but makes for a more rounded and effective member of the team.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Integralis initially used their previous platform to build its own training content. But the company found the platform was consuming more resources than anticipated and found it difficult to scale the roadmap of courses it wanted to create.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, the business established an entirely new company, Zusani, in response to rapid growth in new areas of business. It meant that non-technical team members also needed access to training content to help them upskill in their roles.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To overcome these challenges and help upskill its teams of specialist technical and non-technical personnel, Integralis needed an online learning solution that could deliver a wide breadth of courses and offer the latest technical certification training.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Solution<\/strong>: <strong>Cost-Efficient Training Solutions for Technical and Non-Technical Teams<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Integralis initially trialed Pluralsight, but the company found the platform too tech-focused. When Integralis changed its annual reviews to once each quarter, giving everyone a target amount of training to achieve, they experienced heavy strain trying to keep up with training demands, but Udemy came to the rescue, making it viable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe expect our people to complete two to four courses each quarter, but many often exceed this,\u201d says Almero. \u201cOur team members now work closely with their managers to blend skills for company needs with their own personal goals. We also offer a monetary incentive, where everyone gets a proportion of their salary in return for learning.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Freeing up resources to focus on L&amp;D strategy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With access to thousands of courses in the Udemy Business platform, Integralis\u2019 leaders no longer worry about curating content or the time commitment it demands. Rather, the platform has helped the company\u2019s management teams focus more on the mechanics of L&amp;D and strategy surrounding its future development, mapped against business needs.<\/p>\n<p>Plus, company directors have found they can delegate decision-making more effectively to their lines of business managers. For example, rather than escalating decisions to directors, more people in the business now have the skills and confidence to deal with a wide range of issues, helping reduce bottlenecks and enabling more people to step up in their roles as the company grows. \u201cPeople feel more empowered to take more ownership and responsibility, it helps create a culture of problem-solving and innovation,\u201d says Almero. This newfound ability to delegate is a direct benefit of the changes the company made to its hiring strategy, prioritizing character over competence. Udemy Business is now critical for assessing skill levels in the business and helping people think more independently \u2014 and ultimately, using their initiative to problem solve.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe give a Udemy Business license to everyone \u2014 including contractors and interns,\u201d says Marlize Swart, HR Officer at Integralis. \u201cIn fact, our internships are more successful with Udemy Business; it gives them greater direction and structure, and helps us to measure their capabilities. One person who joined us as an unskilled intern has risen to become an IT governance professional in just four years.
