Developing Talent Program
Build the Leadership Skills Required for the Future of Work
Your organization’s long-term success depends on your ability to attract, develop, engage, and retain the very best people. This program is designed to teach leaders the skills they need to build diverse, engaged, and skilled teams through ongoing coaching and performance management.
In this program, leaders will learn about the value of talent through the lens of the organization, customers, investors, and local communities. They’ll discover ways to coach and develop talent, set expectations, communicate, source, and retain high performers. Leaders will build stronger teams by valuing diversity and creating positive employee experiences designed to help people reach their full potential.
Program Features
The Developing Talent Program consists of three 1-week courses developed in partnership with Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, and The RBL Group.
COURSE 1:
Coaching Your Team
In the vitally important job of developing talent, leaders assume the role of a coach who guides team members to develop competence, demonstrate commitment, and deliver business results. When leaders cultivate a coaching mindset, they create leverage for what they know and can do in a way that helps their team members become all that they aspire to be.
As this course guides leaders to practice coaching skills, demonstrate empathy, and create more personalized experiences for employees, it also offers insights on how those skills shift when managing a hybrid team.
COURSE 2:
Developing Your Team
Organizations thrive when they hire the right people and place them into roles where they can best use their talents, and where their work is effectively aligned with the business strategy. In the hiring process, leaders have responsibility for the essential task of defining and setting standards for needed skills today and in the future. Leaders then help their teams deliver great results by communicating clear performance expectations, providing feedback, and managing accountability.
This course prepares leaders to manage the important aspects of the talent development lifecycle from recruiting to developing to managing performance.
COURSE 3:
Improving Employee Experiences
Hybrid working, new levels of employee choice, and workforce well-being are among the current pressures confronting employers that want to recruit and retain great talent. How leaders manage these pressures will determine if an organization develops a reputation as a great place to work.
To navigate these new pressures, today’s leaders must improve their ability to communicate, engage and retain talent and help employees find meaning in work and its relationship to their purpose and fulfillment.
This course guides leaders to:
• Create effective communication plans
• Use new approaches to retain the right talent and drive their commitment
